Six Years with Access The Animus
ATA Team, May 11th, 2019
It’s May 11th! This can only mean it’s our 6th anniversary and we are super happy to celebrate it with all of you once again! Having to face a new year after the fifth one is tough, as it means planning for the next five years, trying to do our best as we did in the first five ones and aiming at the tenth anniversary… And yet our sixth year was possibly our biggest yet, and we owe it all to you all who keep supporting us every day! You guys are the first and main reason why we are doing all of this. It’s your passion, your comments, your presence and interactions that always push us to do our very best and to bring you the most detailed and heartfelt content we can possibly create! It has been a year of change but also a year of focusing on content that we had kind of stopped doing and in general, as we always mention at this time of the year, the ATA project has evolved, once again, while still holding on to the pillars it was built upon at its foundation. All of this with the firm intention of sharing content and opinions with you all in the most “professional” and honest way possible. It has also been a year full of collaborations for which we can’t thank enough all the people and groups that have supported us, from the Assassin’s Creed Community Team to the Assassin’s Creed Brand Team, the Assassin’s Creed Symphony team, Titan Comics, the AC: Brotherhood of Venice team and all the people that we were lucky enough to interview or that helped us staging events, giveaways, and content for all of you! (We are looking at you, Assassin’s Creed Cosplay Italia) It has, and has always been, a team effort and each of us could never be prouder of what we accomplished. Thus, before we start our new year, we’d like to go through all of the major events that we at ATA went through along with you all throughout the year. Our Markuz and Sorrosyss joined the Mentors Guild On August 22nd and September 28th our Markuz and Sorrosyss joined the Mentors Guild, the community program created by Ubisoft aimed at providing support the Assassin’s Creed fans and acting as a bridge between the community and the Assassin’s Creed team! Markuz got very much involved immediately in the Mentors Guild by organizing and hosting along with our Sary our activities at Gamescom while Sorrosyss provided feedback, organized interviews and also some giveaways throughout the year! Gamescom 2018 The main event was, once again the Community Dinner, our own Sary’s idea, which we organized this year with our dear friend Memento Gallery! You can find an album containing all our pictures from the event at this link. Sorrosyss, Markuz and Hephaestus collaborated on the Assassin’s Creed Essential Guide On October 3rd we were finally able to announce that our Sorrosyss, Markuz and Hephaestus, along with the Assassin's Creed Wiki, had collaborated with the Assassin’s Creed Brand Team as "consultants on lore accuracy and details" of the new Assassin's Creed Essential Guide which would have released soon thereafter. This made us incredibly proud and while we were humbled for being taken into consideration for this project, we did our best to support the development of this book in the months prior to its release! MATH participated in the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Launch Party Our MATH was able to snatch a pass for the VIP Launch Party of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on October 5th in Quebec City and was able to be our eyes and ears during the event! You can find some pictures of the event at this link! Lucca Comics and Games 2018 Once again we renewed our partnership with our friends at Assassin’s Creed Cosplay Italia to bring the Italian fans the Assassin’s Creed Trivia! Along with this, we did our best to follow AC Cosplay Italia in all the activities that they organized at the event! You can find all of our pictures of Lucca Comics and Games 2018 at this link. Sary and Markuz tested Escape the Lost Pyramid and Beyond Medusa’s Gate at Ubisoft Blue Byte While the first one had already been released (and it’s amazing, by the way!), the second one was still to be even announced and we were surprised we were given the chance to know about it, let alone test it! In a team of four with our friends Claudia and Memento Gallery we were able to explore a coastal cave in the Aegean to look for the legendary ship of the Argonauts through an Animus simulation! You can find more information about Beyond Medusa’s Gate at this link. Sary and Markuz participated in the Rehearsal Event of the Assassin’s Creed Symphony This is quite recent, but it already gained a place in our heart. On April 25th, 2019, our Markuz and Sary were invited to participate to the rehearsals of the Assassin’s Creed Symphony in La Spezia, Italy! In a beautiful theater they were able to listen to a few of the movements of the Symphony and to participate in a Q&A with Musical Director Ivan Linn, Technical Director Steven Lemke and Creative Consultant Philip Schotte! We were also able to have a separate interview with Ivan Linn where he discussed the Symphony, the some of its technical elements like the holograms and videos and the feeling of "journey" that fans will experience when attending the concert. We also created an album to showcase the pictures that we took at the event, including the videos and holograms that might appear in the final version of the Symphony! And if that wasn’t enough… we suggest you checking our Youtube channel in the coming days *wink wink* A new focus on videos We have launched our Youtube channel right after the beginning of our journey in August 2013, but while it was key to showcase our most visually based content like interviews, deleted scenes, unboxings and the likes, it has never been the main focus of our content creation. One could say we have never been a proper content creator in that regard :P This year, though, and especially in the last 8 months, we have focused our efforts on the channel and created almost 50% more videos than we usually did in a year, exploring different kind of content like the Weekly Reset videos, the Patch Highlights, some more interviews and, quite recently, our very first Lore Analysis video! Interviews We have briefly mentioned this earlier in the article: in the past few years we did not have many chances to have interviews as we did in the first years of our project. That was finally not the case of 2018, though, as we got back to them in full force. In fact we were able to interview, among the others, writers like Guillaume Dorison and Anthony Del Col, musical composers like The Flight and Ivan Linn, Executive Producers and Game Designers like Cyril Voiron from Ubisoft Escape Games and Thibaud de la Touanne / Fabrice Lamidey from the Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice team. Speaking of Brotherhood of Venice, we have also just launched a series of interviews about the game which will last until November! You can check the first one here and we suggest you to keep your eyes peeled for the second one very soon! This was a very good year for our interviews and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for 2019 / 2020! The Assassin’s Creed Trivia across the world We have mentioned this as well throughout the article, but this year we were able to host multiple versions of the Assassin’s Creed Trivia in several different locations and for different kinds of audiences! In fact, we recently realized that since we tested it in 2015 and then “formally and officially introduced” it in 2017, we have already hosted 12 sessions, 7 of which took place this year! We really can’t thank enough all of our friends and “““partners””” that trusted us enough with bringing this interactive event to the fans, even to the most unexpected of places like the Assassin’s Creed Fan Day in Rome and the Comix Pub in Fiorano, Italy! We are so looking forward to bring it back in this next year! We already have a few innovations in mind… And with that out of the way we can finally start the celebrations for our 6th anniversary! Be sure to follow us today and in the coming days because we have an entire week of content and surprises ready for you! Welcome to ATA's seventh year and, as always, stay synchronized with us!
